About Pastor Matthew

Dr. Matthew St. John’s life mission is to use his gifts of teaching and shepherding to help people embrace Jesus as their Savior, equip them to know Him deeply, and empower them to represent Him in their respective realms of influence. Through his passion for applicable expository communication both in large settings and one on one, Matthew motivates life change that is authentic and substantive. And by promoting balanced visionary leadership, Matthew encourages people both young and old with the ability to unfold timeless truths in a timely manner within a broken world.
A graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, Matthew spent several years as the pastor of Heaston Community Church in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. When he became the senior pastor of Scofield Memorial Church in 2002, Matthew stepped into a responsibility shared by some very special predecessors, including Dr. C. I. Scofield, the editor of the renowned Scofield Reference Bible, and Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer, the founder of Dallas Theological Seminary. As such, Matthew is committed to building on Scofield Memorial Church’s rich heritage by empowering current and future generations of believers to honor and promote the reputation of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Matthew and his wife Christa have two daughters, Emily and Katy, and live in Dallas, Texas.
