“My Times Are In Your Hands”

Posted in This Moment's Meditation by Matthew St. John on the April 23rd, 2008

Hour GlassKing David placed it right in the middle of the thirty-first psalm: My times are in  your hands. What a remarkable thought! Every moment of my existence rests securely in the safe palms of the Most High God. He knows my future. He knows my past. He knows my immediate thoughts and concerns and burdens. He sees it all. Nothing in my life is beyond  the scope of His gaze or reach. The same is true for you.

Listening to Advice

Posted in This Moment's Meditation by Matthew St. John on the April 4th, 2008

The ancients understood the ways of the Lord, and the need to heed His gracious counsel. No small wonder, therefore, that they would meditate on sayings such as that pithy proverb found in Proverbs 12:15, which says simply, a wise man listens to advice. Of course, this is quite timely for me right now, as my need to heed good counsel is enhanced due to circumstances out of my control (see below!). What of you? Are you listening to the wise words of trusted friends and family? Or, are you being a fool?
