Knowing Jesus Christ
Delighted as I am that you are looking through this website, my greater delight is in seeing you enjoy new life with Jesus Christ. Perhaps you have never confessed Jesus Christ as your Savior. There is no greater moment than now to do this very thing.
The process is simple. First it is important to note that all of us are sinners whose sin keeps us separate from Almighty God. The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Honestly recognizing this dilemma is where our journey begins.
But recognizing this begs an awareness of a second issue. You see, our sin means we face eternal damnation. This is precisely what a just God should allow if He is truly just. By our sin we have offended Him. Because of this offense His justice demands a penalty. His greatness requires nothing short of damnation. That is why the Bible tells us in Romans 6:23 that “the wages of sin is death.” This death-both spiritual and physical-is what we have earned.
Thankfully, the third thing we note is that there is hope for us sinners. The rest of Romans 6:23 tells us that while the wages of sin is death, “the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Damnation does not have to be the end! Indeed, we learn in the Bible that “God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). By His death on a cross, Jesus Christ paid in full the just penalty of our sin. That is why before He died He could say, “It is finished” (John 19:30). In the midst of our sinfulness, Jesus died and paid the penalty we should have paid to satisfy the just God of Heaven and Earth. Now our task is to enter into that benefit, which leads to the fourth issue we must know.
You cannot prove yourself somehow worthy of God’s forgiveness. Only Jesus Christ was sufficient for that. What is required instead is that you believe in the Lord Jesus for your salvation. That is why Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us that it is “by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Is there anything keeping you from believing in Jesus Christ as your Savior? If not, then why not tell Jesus Christ right now of your belief in Him. Once you believe, you will be fully reconciled with God, and on track to mature in your faith as you avail yourself to God’s resources such as the Bible, a good Bible-teaching church, and meaningful use of the opportunities He sets before you.
Don’t hesitate to let me know. In fact, if you are just now choosing to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ for your salvation, then please contact me. I’d love to follow-up with you to encourage you in your new life with Jesus.

I have been a Southern Baptist all my life and am the daughter of a long-time Southern Baptist preacher in Dallas. I drive by your church frequently and have always wondered about the Scofield Church’s beliefs. So today I decided to check it out for myself. I have read everything on your website and want you to know that I find not one thing that I disagree with (even the pre-tribulation Rapture!). Your church sounds absolutely wonderful, but I especially love your words about how to become a Christian. Praise the Lord for the wonderful works you are doing. I will keep you and your congregation in my prayers, and who knows — I might even come visit one day!
